I think there is a misunderstanding here. A service shouldn 't depend on a failed-over VIP.
Let 's take an example of a 2-node RAC
A node crashes and the VIP starts on the other node. COk I 'm probably missing something obvious.
Environment
Server 1
RedHat 9.0
2.4.20-8 kernel
Oracle 10.1.0.2
Server 2
White Box 3.0 Respin 1
2.4.21-15.EL kernel
Oracle 10.1.0.2
